Rockville- The American Legion Family of Connecticut, in conjunction with the communities and the Connecticut National Guard Family Services, is proud to announce a “care package drive” for all of our Connecticut troops overseas. As you know, the largest deployment of our troops, from Connecticut since WWII has just left to help the fight in the war on terrorism. This is our chance to show them our gratitude and support.
Donations may be made to any local American Legion Post. Members of the American Legion Family and the American Legion Riders will pick-up all donations and deliver them to Post 14. The public is invited to join us at our next drive which is March 31, 2007 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Post 14 in Rockville, CT. Letters of support and encouragement are also welcome. This is a wonderful program to bring the whole community, schools and businesses together. We intend on carrying out this project on a quarterly basis, while we have soldiers deployed. Please feel free to contact us for a listing of the types of items we are seeking, if one is not accompanied with this letter.
